Primitive Word Counter is a little application that will count words of any text, and the occurrence of words and phrases.
For anyone working in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), any way of quickly knowing the density of search terms is really useful. It is also useful for checking if you're repeating yourself too much, or not enough.
The application itself is really simple, it's not necessary to install it, so just double click the EXE file and it's ready. You can import a file, or just paste your clipboard. This seems to be the easiest way to use Primitive Word Counter, just highlight some text, and paste it in. Then click Go and a second later you'll have your word statistics.
There is a setting for the minimum word length - so you can ignore one or two letter words, for example. The only problem with Primitive Word Counter is that if you try to import an unsupported file type, like an Excel file, it crashes. However, as long as you stick to normal text files or text from the clipboard, it's perfectly fine.
It's free, will run from a USB drive, and gives you a quick and deeper word count.
